This weekend Cadair Ddu is taking some time to dust off the cobwebs in preparation for the unveiling of the company’s new show, Cartref, at Edge Hill University’s Festival of Ideas in June.
Cartref is the first in a series of theatrical experiences the company is producing over the next couple of years as part of co-artistic director Emma Heron’s large scale practice as research project Daughters of Gwenfrewi. Inspired by the Welsh Community Teapot from Anfield Road Methodist Chapel now kept in the Museum of Liverpool, the piece focuses on the experiences of women in the Liverpool Welsh community in the early part of the twentieth century.
